Magnólia is my thesis short animated project. I created it because rape is a worldwide problem that women and children face every day, and I want to depict the emotional consequences for the victim after the violence happens. Its based on my own experiences and on how I face this.
The film was selected for the Bang Awards festival in the online session and for the Animagoria festival in the student session, which took place in September 2026.
After surviving a traumatic assault facilitated by a Tinder match, Magnólia faces the terrifying task of living inside her own skin again. Haunted by shame and the echoes of violence, she tries to reconnect with a world that now feels like a threat. In her struggle to reassemble the fragments of her identity, Magnólia discovers that being human isnt about erasing the past, but about finding the courage to exist in the present, rebuilding herself little by little in a body and in a world that no longer feel safe, but that still hold possibilities for life.
